In this one-of-a-kind class, young bakers will discover the science of baking—measuring, mixing, and experimenting like real kitchen scientists—while also exploring the art of decorating, turning cookies, cupcakes, and treats into edible masterpieces.
 
Kids will learn how heat changes ingredients, why measurements matter, and how colors and designs transform a dessert into a work of art. Each class blends hands-on STEM learning with imaginative decorating projects, sparking curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

🥐 Junior Pastry Chefs 6-Week Series (Ages 6–12)
2 Hours Each Week – Hands-On Baking & Decorating
The kitchen is where young stars shine! ✨ At the Junior Chef Stars Academy hosted at Mrs. Shar’s, kids don’t just learn recipes—they discover the art of pastry while building confidence and creativity. In this 6-week, 2-hour series, Junior Chefs will explore the sweet world of baking, from cookies and cupcakes to pies and puff pastry. Each week builds new skills while keeping the experience fun, playful, and confidence-boosting.
🍴 What Kids Will Learn – Week by Week
Week 1: Kitchen Kickoff & Pastry Basics 🧑‍🍳 (2 hours)
  • Kitchen safety & cleanliness
  • Measuring and mixing like a pastry chef
  • Baking a simple starter pastry
Week 2: Cookie Creators 🍪 (2 hours)
  • Mixing and shaping cookie dough
  • Exploring textures (chewy vs. crunchy)
  • Decorating with icing, glazes, and sprinkles
Week 3: Cupcake Designers 🧁 (2 hours)
  • Baking light, fluffy cupcakes
  • Portioning for even results
  • Practicing piping & swirl designs
  • Decorating with sprinkles and toppers
Week 4: Pie Pros 🥧 (2 hours)
  • Rolling and handling pie dough
  • Using flaky crusts
  • Sweet fillings (apple, berry, or seasonal)
  • Decorative tops: cut-outs, or crumble
Week 5: Pastry Explorers 🥐 (2 hours)
  • Introduction to puff pastry (kid-friendly style)
  • Making mini turnovers or fruit-filled pastries
  • Understanding layers and textures
  • Adding glazes for shine & presentation
Week 6: Chef’s Showcase & Celebration 🎉 (2 hours)
  • Creating a “signature” pastry using learned skills
  • Decorating & presenting like a pro
  • Sharing final pastry creations with family
  • Receiving a Certificate of Completion

  • Junior Chef Stars Academy – Cancellation Policy

    At Junior Chef Stars Academy, every class is carefully planned with limited spots, prepped ingredients, and staff dedicated to giving your child the best experience. To protect the quality of our program, the following policy applies:

    • No Refunds – All class registrations and memberships are non-refundable.

    • No Credits for No-Shows – If a participant does not attend for any reason, no refunds, transfers, or credits will be issued.

    • No Prorated Refunds – Partial attendance or missed classes cannot be refunded or credited.

    • Late Arrivals – Students arriving late may join the class in progress, but no extra time, reschedule, or refund will be provided.

    • Company Cancellations – If Junior Chef Stars Academy must cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive either a reschedule option or a class credit.

    By registering, you acknowledge and agree to this policy.

    At Junior Chef Stars Academy, every class is carefully planned with limited spots, fresh ingredients, and staff dedicated to creating a fun, safe, and memorable experience for your child. Because of this, the following refund policy applies:

    Refunds & Credits

    • All sales are final. Registrations, memberships, and class fees are non-refundable.

    • No refunds or credits will be given for no-shows, missed classes, or personal scheduling conflicts.

    • No refunds for late arrivals. Participants may join the class already in progress but no additional time, make-up, or credit will be provided.

    • No prorated refunds for partial attendance or unused portions of a membership.

    Company Cancellations

    • If Junior Chef Stars Academy cancels a class or program due to unforeseen circumstances, families will be given the choice of a rescheduled class or a credit toward a future program.

    By registering, parents/guardians confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to this policy.
